Assignment 9/3: Creative Coding

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/489063091

This is a project that I made using Scratch. It is a name animation. Scratch has enjoyed great popularity across the world in STEM education, including China. It is a good start for children who are interested in coding since it is a beginner-friendly coding tool. It converts complicated coding language into a game like a puzzle game. Gamification of coding education has the power to attract children's attention and engage them in the learning process. It is such a creative expression that children can use it to implement every little idea in their minds and make them come true.

Impact 25

I worked on Impact 25 with Qing. We invited 25 people to collaboratively tell a story with 25 given keywords. The starter and the end of the story were provided. Each person picks up keywords to write either a sentence or a paragraph, following the storyline written by former participants. Keywords can not be used twice.

In this project, it is interesting to notice how creative these people are. Different people have different storytelling styles and intentions for the storyline. Participants pretty much enjoyed the process and this kind of interaction with other people. It sparked their curiosity to find out who wrote which part of the story and how would it develop after his/ her part.
