This detech experience has proven to be a difficult task for me. According to the iPhone use statistics, I use my phone for approximately 7 hours every day on average. It's an incredible statistic because it accounts for over half of the waking time. I was initially uncomfortable when I turned off my digital gadget, but the discomfort quickly faded as I focused on other things. Detech is an excellent method to focus on oneself, in my opinion. Digital technology, such as social media, can sometimes lead to traps in which people become trapped in a vicious cycle of energy use. When you exercise while deteching, you may be conscious of your physical body. While deteching, you can be mindful of your feelings by conversing with others or reading a book.
I opted to play LEGO during the time I was away from my digital gadgets. I finished the project as seen in the image above. I was completely absorbed in the game and did not notice the passage of time while playing LEGO. Instead of the emptiness that I had while I was on social media, it turned out to be a satisfying experience during which I felt a feeling of accomplishment.
