Assignment 1/26: About me and the environment where I am

I am Hengzhi(Haines) Huang. I am currently studying Instructional Technology and Media at Teachers College(TC), Columbia University. This is my last semester. I love contact with new things, thinking creatively, and doing differently. That is why I chose New Media, New Forms this semester. I hope I can have some thought-provoking moments in this course.

My identity as an educator is multifaceted. I used to be a Chinese teacher for several years, having teaching experience in New Zealand for two years. Due to my belief in the power of technologies in inspiring more students, I chose to study instructional technology and media. During my journey at TC, I connected with various technologies, like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, visual reality, 3D modeling, etc. It helps me develop my understanding of how technologies shape education and people. I have some experience with new media. Last year, I took the course Digital Foundation where I had some experience with creating a digital experience with new media, like Turtle Stith, Scratch, Micro-bit, p5.js.

Cactus plants represent the existences in the environment, such as people and objects, who protect from others for various reasons. Despite the fact that the environment is densely populated with cactus plants, they can get close to each other but not closer. These cactus plants also come in a variety of forms and sizes, as well as standing in various postures. As a result, some are illuminated by faint lights, while others are left in the dark. That is, we, along with others in our immediate vicinity, shape our surroundings.
